Coaching is one of the most rewarding and potentially lucrative careers in today's marketplace. In fact, it has become a top home-based profession according to Startups magazine. YESS! is on the leading edge of the coaching profession, specializing in the development and training of highly effective professional and organizational coaches. Even though coaching is popular, it is still a fledgling as a profession with virtually no regulation to monitor those providing coaching services. As a consumer, you should be aware that a wide variety of "certification" programs exist - some no more than a weekend long! If you are thinking of becoming a professional coach, we suggest investigating and committing yourself to a program that has a certification program with depth, practical skills training and experienced staff. Coaching certification establishes a professionalism that sets coaches apart. The requirements for designation as a YESS! Certified Effectiveness Coach (CEC) are intended to establish that the coach has developed personal mastery and an ability to empower others to be self-generating and competent in addressing their own issues. Our goal is to train coaches to be disciplined individuals who adhere to high ethical standards and uphold themselves to a set of rigorous practices and skills. Based on knowledge and skills derived from research, education and training at a high level, we prepare our students to use this body of knowledge powerfully in the interest of others. The practices and tools we teach are backed by robust and coherent theory. The intellectual foundation of Ontological Coaching (existential philosophy, philosophy of language and the biology of cognition) provide this. This serves as a solid foundation for the development of a highly competent coaching practice. Our Certified Coaches are eligible to apply to our Brokered Coaches program through which we refer clients to them. |
In the Coaching for Excellence Certification Program, we train our coaches rigorously. Our program includes substantial in-person classroom learning, extensive hours of practice coaching, and a thorough, well-designed curriculum based on an Ontological Coaching model. |
