@CharlotteJokoBeck offers a great teaching with this passage:

“Life always gives us exactly the teacher we need at every moment. This includes every mosquito, every misfortune, every red light, every traffic jam, every obnoxious supervisor (or employee), every illness, every loss, every moment of joy or depression, every addiction, every piece of garbage, every breath.

Every moment is the guru.”

What if we treated our moments as teachers, perfect at that time to offer exactly what we need to help us become the next best version of ourselves?

What if the imperfections became gifts?

What if we saw the actions of every person (yes, I did say every during 2020) as opportunities for growth and learning?

If we did, and when we do, we rise. We elevate, We emerge better, stronger and more vibrant.

What will it take to do so – ESPECIALLY when provoked or facing commentary which challenges our worldview? Or when it seems the world is digressing around us, spiraling into fear, appearing to abandon goodness, kindness and doing the right thing?

We let it stir our souls into action prompting us to be better and open the floodgates to learning. 2020 is proving to be a formidable teacher, may we all rise to greet our teacher as a willing learner in every moment. It’s time.
