There is No Right Choice #87

Transitions. For most of us, they are challenging. Challenging in the best and worst sense of the word.

Challenging us to become who we need to be, while letting go of who we currently know ourselves as.

Challenging because in doing so, we must let go of the predictable and familiar. Comfort resides here.

Adventure and excitement, they live outside your comfort zone. Growth and learning are the benefits gained when going outside your comfort zone.

Some say, you’re either growing or dying.

During your transition, you’ll be filled with fear if you focus on what’s ending, or what could be ending. Fear is fed with evidence from our past; those instances that resembled something like what we’re experiencing currently in some way, shape or form. If you spend enough time here, you’ll be paralyzed.

Similarly, if you focus on the future during your transition, you’ll do one of two things, you’ll be filled with worry about all the possible outcomes and your lack of control, or you’ll be excited about the possibilities of what could occur. One of those options will move you forward. The other can also render you paralyzed.

The good news? There is no right choice. If the choice you make doesn’t work, you can change it.

The bad news? You’re in transition again.

If you learn from the experience, you’ll interpret the experience as something you gained that propelled you forward (which really is good news).

If you don’t learn, you’ll add to the pile of “mistakes” and “failures” you’re accumulating to justify your inaction and deepen your fear which will stop you from making changes.

Since there is no right choice, CHOOSE. Then make that choice right.

Until it’s not.
